Yes, You can buy western blood pressure medicine at drug stores. In China, western medicine is the primary medicine we use.

I am from Mumbai, India and have been asked to move to Harbin for work ... will have to be there for 2-3years.
I would like to know if it is ok to shift along with my wife.
Do we get rented accomodation there??? What are the rates???

In China, everything is quite same like it is in India or any other country. For sure, you can live with your wife and rent a house here.


The rate of rent varies. For luxury apartment, the price will beyond 3000RMB. You can rent a comfortable well-equipped apartment(2 bedroom, with heating, cooling system, internet connection, cable TV, well-equipped bathroom) from 1000RMB to 2000RMB. There are cheaper options too.


Harbin-guide.com offers rent service. We will help you to locate interested property, help with communicate with landlord, negotiate and review contract on your behalf, coordination between you and the landlord when necessary.

Harbin Ice Festival starts on Jan 5th, every year. It last one month. So it is from Jan 5th to Feb 5th, 2010.
